The ward president of Pokhara Metropolitan City-4, Devkrishna Parajuli, who assaulted employees and businessmen, has been arrested.
DSP Hari Bahadur Basnet informed that Ward President Parajuli was arrested from Pokhara-16 Dhikidanda on Wednesday on the basis of a complaint of indecent behavior. Lekhnath Subedi, a businessman of Sarveshwar Marg (Panthi Galli) of Pokhara-4 filed a complaint against Parajuli on Tuesday. On the basis of the same complaint, the Ward President Parajuli was arrested with permission from the District Administration Office Kaski. DSP Basnet said that he will be brought to the district administration office on Thursday.
Parajuli assaulted cosmetic businessman Subedi in front of his shop on Tuesday afternoon. There was a dispute after the goods kept outside the shop were confiscated by the Metropolitan Police Force. Subedi, a businessman, said that while he was returning his belongings to the Metropolitan Police, the Ward President Parajuli suddenly hit him on the cheek and pushed him. ``The police put the goods to be sent to the customer outside the shop in the car. I asked back that it was a customer's goods,' he said, ``I was talking, he came and hit me.'' After the
incident, local businessmen reached the ward office and shouted slogans against the ward president. On Tuesday, Ward President Parajuli assaulted Ishwari Prasad Pokhrel, an employee working in the administration department of Pokhara Metropolitan City, in the chief administrative officer's office. Ward president Parajuli attacked Pokhrel for not coordinating the training of employees. After this, the employees stopped the functioning of the Metropolitan Corporation on Wednesday, demanding action against the Ward President Parajuli.
