Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar has said that the armed police force is becoming more efficient in rescue and border security in every disaster.
At the convocation ceremony of the trainees trained by the Armed Police Force Nepal Mountain Rescue Training Academy held here today, he said that disaster rescue work has increased the trust and confidence of the people of the country and abroad.
The Home Minister said, 'The role and contribution of the armed police in border security, when people are affected by disasters, is appreciable. This contribution has made the armed police reliable. We are trying to make it even better.'
He expressed his belief that since Manang is a tourist area that gives the impression of heaven, the armed forces are trained to assist in mountain disaster rescue, so that it will be easy for the locals as well as the tourists in the future.
The Minister of Home Affairs said that it would help to make the journey of tourists coming to the footpath under the Annapurna Conservation Area, which is considered to be the most dangerous in the world, safe.
'Tourist activities here support the economy of the district and the country. Therefore, we should be able to give the impression that we are safe while traveling on this footpath, which is considered dangerous,' he said. In order to promote the tourism of Manang, the world's center of attraction, we should increase the number of tourists by making travel safe.'
Inspector General of Armed Police Raju Aryal said that this training has given more responsibilities in the disasters and risks that occur in high-mountainous and Himalayan areas. He opined that it is necessary to advance mountain rescue as well as water rescue with priority.
Aryal said, 'The tourist arrival can be increased only by guaranteeing security. Just like the armed police involved in rescuing divers, the police involved in mountain rescue should also be managed to provide services and facilities. Even if it is from the welfare fund, an allowance of Rs 1,000 will be arranged for the armed police who will be deployed in the rescue until the government manages it.' 45 people have been initiated from
school. Agriculture and Livestock Development Minister Ram Nath Adhikari, Member of the House of Representatives and former State Minister Tek Bahadur Ghale were present at the convocation ceremony.
