Pokhara Metropolitan Municipality has requested the agitating teachers to conduct the teaching of community schools by next Wednesday.

The education department of the metropolis published a notice on Monday and requested the teachers, students, school staff, school management committee, teacher parent association to regularize the teaching by Wednesday. The city education committee's meeting on Sunday decided to ask the teachers to regularize the lessons.

The Metropolitan Education Department was preparing to conduct the new academic session from May 8. However, after the community school teachers were on strike, the teaching and learning of institutional schools was also suspended. Institutional schools have started teaching from May 11.

There are 198 community and 175 institutional schools in Pokhara. According to the 081 data of the Education Department, there are about 144,000 students studying in those schools from nursery to class 12.
