Dharche Rural Municipality has distributed Landless Purja (Lal Purja) to the landless Dalit families on Saturday.

Chairman of the rural municipality, Lakshman Gurung, through the Land Problem Solution Commission District Committee. He informed that landless Dalit families have been provided with supplies.

Mangale Vick, Raju Vick, Aitsingh Kami and Ram Bahadur Kami have been given land parcels . In April 2080  Even though the rural municipality coordinated with the commission and made the final preparations for the distribution of parts to the landless Dalits, the work of distribution of parts was stopped for almost one and a half years after the government abolished the then commission.

Gurung, chairman of the rural municipality, says that no application has been received from landless squatters in the rural municipality. It is said that there have been more than 250 unorganized residents in Dharche and the necessary process has been initiated to provide them with land ownership.

Nanda Prasad Neupane, a member of the Gandaki State Assembly, handed over the parts to the Dalit family. In June 2079, 11 local levels of Gorkha agreed with the Commission to proceed with the process of providing land to landless Dalits, landless squatters and unorganized residents.

The landless Dalit family of Dharche is happy after getting part of the land they have been farming after years. "I thought that I would die without getting a land parcel in my name," Aitsingh, one of the landless Dalits, said, "The village council took the initiative and gave the land parcel in my name, I am very happy."
