Gandaki Lake Authority, Dairy Development Board and Zipast abolished

Gandaki State Chief Minister Dilliraj Bhatt approved the 'Bill to repeal some Gandaki State Acts' and 3 structures under the government have been abolished.

Provincial Chief Bhatt on Monday certified the bill passed by the Provincial Assembly to abolish Gandaki Provincial Institute of Science and Technology (GPAST), Lake Conservation and Development Authority and Dairy Development Board. This bill was passed by the majority in the state assembly meeting on March 22.

The government decided to cancel the work with the conclusion that the performance was not satisfactory and there was duplication in the same type of work. According to the plan to abolish these structures in the current financial year, the government did not appoint the executive after the term of office.

076 On February 23, the then Chief Minister Prithvisubba Gurung appointed Dr. as the Chief Executive Officer of Lake Authority. Anup Gurung was appointed. After he resigned on October 5, 2007, the authority remained without a leader for 10 months. On August 20, 1979, Dr. Kalpanadevi became the CEO of Devkota Authority. After he resigned on December 5, 2008, no one was appointed there. The government has concluded that there is no need for authorization for works such as lake calculation, beautification, and foot track construction, and it has been dismissed. The government plans to entrust the work of the Lake Authority to the Ministry of Forests and Environment and the structures in the districts under it.

077 Mansir 21 Dr. Dhakaram Bhandari was appointed. His 4-year tenure ended last November. Zipast is especially helpful for searchers. After the completion of one term of the establishment, the state government concluded that it was not justified. The state government is planning to do the work from Gandaki University through the research center under Gandaki University.

The weakest structure among those abolished was the Dairy Development Board. The Dairy Development Board Act was made in 075 with the aim of producing, processing and marketing milk from advanced breeds of animals in public-private partnership. Later, the government prepared to operate a cow farm by investing shares. The government was forced to retreat after the controversial image of private sector investors.  Even though the

act was passed, the procedures and regulations related to the operation of the Dairy Development Board were not made. Therefore, the board became a worker recruitment center. On February 11, 1979, the then Chief Minister Khagraj Adhikari appointed Til Bahadur Mahat (Tilak), a former member of the House of Representatives, as the Vice Chairman of the Board. However, since there was no office and no staff, he did not achieve anything except riding in a car. The government plans to do the work of the board through the Ministry of Agriculture, Land Management and Cooperatives.

Provincial Chief Bhatt also approved the bill for regulating and managing partnership firms in Gandaki province on Monday. This bill was passed by the Parliament one and a half months ago on February 23.
