The old age home built at a cost of more than 2 crores is unused

The old age home built at Nearghat in Baglung Municipality-4 has not been put into operation. The old age home, which was built two years ago to house the elderly who were abandoned by their families, could not be put into operation.

Even after the completion of the construction, the building has not been operated for a long time, and the surroundings have become covered with bushes and it has become abandoned.

Ashram for construction  The construction company  The contract was signed on 8th January 2079 and the work was started. The construction company completed the work on June 25, 2080. 

Municipality's 26 million 549 has been built as an ashram with facilities. Although the building has one floor, it is equipped with facilities.

Vasant Kumar Shrestha, head of Baglung municipality, said that the construction of an old-age home for the protection of the elderly who are despised by their families has not been operational since no one has come to take shelter. He says that the executive has decided to allow the Manavseva Ashram to operate for some time rather than leaving the structure that was built at the expense of crores of rupees unused. 

Mayor Shrestha said, 'Nobody should stay in Babaama Ashram, fortunately, so far no one has come in contact with us saying that they were harassed by their families. The municipality built this ashram for the purpose of protecting elderly people who are harassed. It has been decided to give it to Manav Seva Ashram.'

Manav Seva Ashram is under construction near the old age ashram. He says that he will allow the old age home to be used until the building is constructed. Chief Shrestha says that the municipality will arrange the building covered by bushes in a short time. He said that for the protection of the said building, they will fence, waste management and other works. 

Shrestha said that if any elderly people come to seek shelter, they will be given good facilities. An ashram has been built on five ropani land of Jangeshwar Mahadev Laxminarayan Guthi in Nirayaghat. Baglung Municipality Engineer Sobin Gharti informed that there are 20 rooms in the building including meditation center, nursing center, kitchen.  He says that there are toilets and bathrooms for the elderly in the

building. Balkrishna Acharya, a resident of Baglung Municipality-1, said that due to non-operation of the old age home, a good amount of money is being lost. He said that it was a sad matter that it was not operational for two years after the construction was completed, but the municipality should use it for any purpose. He says that the new building is not being used and the windows are going to break.
