The Hotel Association of Pokhara has conducted Fewa Festival in Pokhara from today. The festival will continue till the 1st of Baisakh.

Hotels are going to give a 20 percent discount on their rates for tourists coming here during the 20th Fewa New Year Festival-2082 to be organized in Pokhara. The organizing association organized a press conference in Pokhara on Friday and gave this information. Laxman Subedi, president of the association and coordinator of the festival, informed that Bhaktapur's Wisket Jatra will be a special attraction in the festival this time.  He said that the original culture of 11 districts of Gandaki province will be presented at the

festival. It is said that the program of baja, bhajan and ratyauli will also be included in the festival. Free entry has been arranged for the festival, which will be held on the three-kilometer road from Kharechok to Damside Beach in Pokhara. Tourism, culture and food will be the main attractions of Fewa Festival.  On the occasion of

festival, member hotels of the association will provide 20 percent discount on their published rates. Currently, the occupancy of hotels in Pokhara is 60 percent and during the festival, it will increase to 90 percent, Subedi informed.

Provincial level original and Raithane traditional food display, presentation of cultural program, entertaining sports program and tourist race competition will be the attractions of the festival. Badminton cup competition is a new attraction this time. Folk Duhori program will also be presented at the festival. The promoters of the festival are Nepal Tourism Board, Gandaki Province and Pokhara Metropolitan City.
