Unpaved roads have been extended in all the five wards of Loghekar Damodarkund Rural Municipality of Upper Mustang. The absence of a bridge in one ward of the municipality has been a problem for locals and tourists for years.

From Loghekar Damodarkund-1 Charang which is connected by the main highway road to Loghekar Damodarkund-5 across Kaligandaki Dhye and Kaligandaki river connecting Tangya village, there is no bridge on the 'Dhye' river, the citizens and tourists of that area have to suffer to travel during Barkhayam.

There is a tourist trail connecting Nafu to Manang through the 'Dhye' river from Mustang's Charang and passing through Dhye and Tangya villages. There is a need for a bridge as there is a short distance tourist trail from Upper Mustang to Manang via Dhye and Tyangya.

Although the need for a bridge has been made for a long time in the "Dhe" river, which is the confluence of other branch rivers including North Korlapas and Damoedarkund, the bridge has not been built there so far. Pasang Gurung, Ward President of Loghekar Damodarkund-5 informed that there is a problem due to the lack of a bridge in Kaligand's 'Dhe' river, which connects Dhyegaon and Tangya villages with village center Charang and Korla roads. Due to the lack of a bridge over the 'Dhye' river, the citizens of Dhye and Tangya villages have problems in commuting to the municipality center and the headquarters, Jomsom.

'During Barkhayam, the level of Dhyekhola in Kaligand is high, it is not possible to cross the river,' Ward President Gurung said, 'For three to four months of Barkhayam, our village is like a complete blockade, because there is no bridge, we cannot even go around.'

Under the main highway road, you can reach Dhye and Tangya villages after an hour's downhill from Charang, the center of the municipality, crossing Dhyekhola and a few minutes uphill. Although these two villages are connected by a dirt road, there is a problem due to the lack of a bridge in Dhyekhola. The Ward President Gurung mentioned that the citizens of that area used to transport food and daily consumable goods during the winter season only after the level of the river has decreased.

After federalism, the rural municipality was taking the initiative to build a bridge here to connect Loghekar Damodarkund-1 and 5. A scientific study and survey was also conducted for the construction of a bridge in Dhyekhola, spread over a distance of about 500 meters. Although the two government agencies have prepared a detailed project report (DPR), there has been a problem because the government has not allocated the budget for the bridge. The citizens who depend on agriculture and animal husbandry are hoping that the government will build the bridge.

DPR was prepared earlier by the Infrastructure Development Directorate for the construction of bridge connecting Dhye and Tangya villages. The Local Infrastructure Department (DOLI) also conducted a survey for the construction of a bridge in Dhyekhola. Chairman of Loghekar Damodarkund Rural Municipality, Lopsang Chomphel Bista, said that despite several attempts to build a bridge in Dhyekhola, it could not be done.
