The body of a Chinese hiker who went missing in an avalanche while returning from Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) has been found. The body of 28-year-old Cheng Yuan, who went missing in an avalanche in Chumrung, Deurali, Annapurna Rural Municipality-11 on Chait 11, was found on Saturday.

After he did not come in contact, the locals and the Nepal Police team initially searched for him. Then on Chait 16, a special disaster rescue team under the command of Armed Police Inspector Vishwaraj Tripathi from Nepal No. 24 Gana Headquarters, Kalika Gana, Pokhara was deployed for the search.

Kalika Gana Ganapati SP Surya Prasad Timilsina informed that the body was found lying 20 meters north of the bank of Modi river in Chumrung with a bag lying on the ground on Saturday morning. Yuan's family has come to Nepal after getting information about the incident. 

The body is ready to be handed over to the family after the post-mortem at the Teaching Hospital Maharajganj.
