Less than nine months into the current financial year, 396,901 tourists have entered the religious and touristic district of Mustang. According to the police statistics from July to Chait 18 of this year, the district police office has mentioned that the number of tourists has entered Mustang as internal and external tourists.

Police Inspector Vishal Adhikari, Information Officer of District Police Office informed that 333 thousand 845 Nepali domestic tourists and 63 thousand 56 foreign tourists have entered Mustang since July of this year.

According to the police inspector officer, 238,354 male and 95,491 female domestic Nepali tourists have entered here since July. Similarly, 35 thousand 618 male and 27 thousand 438 female foreign tourists visited Mustang.

With three months left in this year, 10 thousand 983 tourists entered the Nepalese interior in July, 17 thousand 492 in August, 47 thousand 293 in October, 99 thousand 176 in October, 58 thousand 443 in November, 28 thousand 722 in January, 24 thousand 802 in January, 46 thousand 934 in February and 44 thousand 806 tourists entered the Mustang by Chait 18. is

Similarly, 3 thousand 54 in July, 6 thousand 347 in August, 12 thousand 538 in October, 14 thousand 124 in October, 7 thousand 464 in November, 6 thousand 835 in January, 3 thousand 456 in January, 9 thousand 238 in February and 13 thousand 405 people have visited the district. According to Police Inspector Vishal Adhikari, 81 percent of Nepalese domestic tourists and 19 percent of foreign tourists have visited the district since July of this year. According to him, 80 percent of the tourists entering Mustang are Indians and 20 percent are tourists from other countries.

According to the District Police Office, 454,326 Nepalese domestic and foreign tourists visited Mustang in the year 2080/81. Out of which 3 lakh 54 thousand 927 domestic and 99 thousand 399 foreign tourists entered the Mustang, according to police statistics.

Recently, the number of domestic and foreign tourists is increasing as the road network is gradually improving. The district's sacred religious pilgrimage sites, Muktinath Dham and Kagbeni Shraddhasthal, attract a large number of Nepali domestic tourists. Nepali tourists who entered the Mustang have visited Muktinath and reached Korlanaka, an autonomous region of northern China, which borders with Tibet.

Mustang is a religious and culturally diverse district and the attraction of its unique type of land has started to increase the number of tourists here every year. Tasinarbu Gurung, president of Lomanthang Rural Municipality, said that after the Korla road of national pride becomes easier, domestic tourists will reach Korlanaka. 

The district is becoming an important tourist destination due to the centuries-old monasteries, mane, chorten, monastery and the historical and archaeological heritage and caves located in Mustang. In Upper Mustang, the palace of the 700-year-old Mustangi cultural king as well as dozens of religious monasteries connected with Guru Padyasambhava has become a center for various researches for tourists.
