The ring road upgradation plan has started at the headquarters Beni Bazar. Beni Municipality-8 Kalipul to Darwang bus park in Ward No. 7 connecting Kaligandaki and Myagdi riverside road has been started to be upgraded.
Vikesh-Dupcheswar-Subham JV, which signed a contract with the Office of Intensive Urban and Building Construction Project Baglung for Rs 3.19 million, has started the construction of drains in the first phase. Through the
plan, 900 meters of road will be sloped at the rate of 5 to 6 meters by constructing retaining walls, drains, and railings at the corner of the road.
Beni Bazar is going to upgrade the road made by filling soil behind the concrete wall built to control the erosion of Kaligandaki and Myagdi rivers. As part of the 10 model municipalities program advanced by the Nepal government, the municipality has proposed the Beni Circular Road Upgradation Plan, and the project has progressed due to the allocation of budget, Mayor Surat KC said.
'After the upgrade of the ring road, it will be easier for large vehicles to travel through the ring road,' he said, 'currently, the problem of dust blown from the ring road coming to the market and causing pollution will also be solved after the upgrade.' In order to reduce the traffic pressure on the road inside Beni market, arrangements have been made for the operation of goods carriers and vehicles that do not have to stop inside the market.
Beni-8 ward president Uttamkumar Karmacharya said that after the completion of the upgradation of the ring road, there is a plan to plant flowers and beautify the road by electrification. Under the three-year plan, it has been proposed to the Ministry of Urban Development to construct the Darwang Bus Park ramp for the financial year 2082/083 and the terminal building at the bus park in 2083/084.
The representative of the construction company, Subash Chandra Karki, said that the project will be completed within the stipulated time by mobilizing enough workers and equipment.
