The second Sikar Yam of this year has started in Nepal's only Sikar Reserve, Dhorpatan. In the second season, 35 wild animals including 13 wild boars, 10 wild boars and 12 wild boars will be hunted. The Department of Wildlife and National Parks had invited tenders for hunting on 15th January last.
Six companies, namely Himalayan Wildlife Outfitters Pvt Ltd, Tracks and Trails Pvt Ltd, Himalayan Safaris Pvt Ltd, Global Safaris Nepal, Nepal Travel Expeditions and Open Nepal Wildlife Safaris have been allowed to hunt in the second year. The hunters who got permission from the Wildlife and National Parks Department have started coming to play hunting in different blocks of Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve.
Ranger Sagar Subedi of Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve Office informed that hunters have started coming to Dhorpatan since 26th of Chait. For the second yam (February-Baisakh), the hunters will be able to play the game till the 16th of Baisakh. He said that so far only two Naur have been hunted. According to
ranger Subedi, the Himalayan Wildlife Outfitters has received a permit to hunt two wild boars and two wild boars through hunters. Ranger Subedi informed that this company has already hunted one nour. 70-year-old Marcos Olajola Alcorta from Spain was the victim of the attack in Sundah block.
Similarly, through Tracks and Trails Pvt. Ltd., American hunters got permission to hunt two wild boars, two wild boars and two wild boars. According to Ranger Subedi, through Himalayan Safaris Pvt Ltd, three hunters have received permission for three Naur and one Jharal.

Through Open Nepal Wildlife Safari and Treks Pvt Ltd, three hunters have got permission to hunt one naur, two jharal and three wild boars. Ranger Subedi informed that hunters came from America, Argentina, Spain and France in this hunting season. According to him, Rs 8 lakh for one Jharal, Rs 6 lakh 25 thousand five hundred for Nowra have been fixed.
This year hunting is being done in Sundah, Seng, Bhustung, Dogadi, Phagune, Barse block, Chief Conservation Officer of Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve Chandrasekhar Chaudhary informed. He said that 1 crore 26 lakh revenue was collected in the second year.
There is also a provision to pay revenue for taking wild animals killed by hunters. In Dhorpatan hunting is open in two yams every year. Hunting is open in the first (August-November) and second (February-May).
