Growth oriented entrepreneurship and employment promotion program has been implemented in five local levels of four districts of Gandaki province. In partnership with the Ministry of Industry and Tourism of the Government of Gandaki Province and the relevant local level, a program has been conducted for the identification of entrepreneurs through the 'Diyatva' organization for their capacity development, business upgrading and sales and marketing.
Juntara Rana, the program officer of the responsible organization, said that this program has been implemented in Hupsekot of Nawalpur, Badigad of Baglung, Gorkha municipality of Gorkha, Siranchok rural municipality and Mygde rural municipality of Tanahun along with mountain floods.
'In the current financial year, the provincial government has sent 40 million to each local level and the respective municipalities have allocated a budget of 20 million,' he said, 'We will share 50 percent of the total cost of the project to micro, small and medium entrepreneurs based on agriculture, animal husbandry, herbs, tourism, services and production.'
Program officer Rana said that 40 entrepreneurs at each local level will be partnered in the enterprise from a minimum of Rs.25,000 to Rs.150,000. In the first phase, applications have been collected from entrepreneurs willing to join the program. According to
, 40 entrepreneurs will be selected in the first stage, 20 entrepreneurs will be given up to 25,000 for enterprise development technology, 10 people will be given up to 100,000 for innovation promotion, in the third stage, nine people will be given 80,000 and one person will be given 150,000 for sales and marketing technology.
