The Branch Officer of Pokhara Metropolitan City, who is responsible for processing the complaints submitted to the authorities, was arrested with a bribe of Rs. 25,000. The Abuse of Authority Investigation Commission Pokhara office has detained Kapil Giri in front of the Municipal Corporation office at New Road while he was taking money from the service recipient.
He was in charge of the Coordinator of Complaint Resolution and Coordination Branch of the Metropolitan Municipality. He used to collect the opinions and responses from the wards and branches regarding the complaints filed with the authority regarding the metropolis.
According to Rakesh Pandey, the information officer of the Pokhara office of the Commission, Giri had filed a complaint with the authority about the service recipient and demanded a sum of one lakh rupees to settle it. He said that money has been demanded by creating a fake complaint, and that there is a photo and video of the complaint. After further investigation, Giri will be handed over to the officer who will look into the case within 24 hours, he said.
