The ward chairman of Pokhara Metropolitan City-21, who came to stop encroachment on public land, was hit with a rod.  Local Bhupendra Giri hit a rod on Ward President Deepak Subedi on Saturday.

Ward president Subedi said that when he came to stop and found out that he was going to build a house by encroaching on the public land of the pond in Bajhipokhari, he was hit by a rod.

He said that even though he asked not to build a house on public land, he was stopped by the city police and was hit by a rod. We said, ``Bring some white/red parts, we will send them if you want to send Amin.'' He doesn't have any proof,' Subedi said to Ikantipur, 'That is absolutely public land.' When they started building it overnight, they went to stop it through the city police.

Ward president Subedi told that while showing the city police the place where the public land had been destroyed, local Bhupendra Giri called him to the corner and guarded him with a rod. He called to the corner to come like this. I went to request something. He came with a rod. When he was watching me, I stopped him by holding him with my hand . There was another friend next to him . He also stopped," he said, "he didn't get hurt. If it had hit the head, anything could have happened.

Ward president Subedi informed about the incident at Baidam Ward Police Office. DSP Santosh Niraula of Ward Police Office Baidam said that the person who hit the rod was called to the police office for questioning.
