Upgradation of Muglin-Pokhara road: 73 km of tarmac

Under the Muglin-Pokhara road plan, 73.11 km of black paper has been completed in the eastern section so far. In the eastern section from Anbukhaireni to Jamune in Tanahun, four lanes and two lanes have been blacked for a distance of 73.11 km.

According to Bishnu Prasad Pandey, engineer of the eastern section, in this section, 34.98 kilometers towards the four lanes and 3.15 kilometers towards the two lanes have been completed. Pandey said, 'Until now, 73.11 km distance has been blacked out if we calculate the section that has been blacked out in two lanes.'

As of February 16, the physical progress of this section has reached 78.95 percent, while the financial progress is 59.25 percent. According to Pandey, in this section, the last black paper has been completed at a distance of 20.16 km towards the four lanes, while the last black paper has been completed at the distance of 12.32 km towards the two lanes. 

Under the eastern section, black paper has also started at the headquarters Damauli Bazar. In Beas Municipality-2 Bagbazar in Damauli, the road is being prepared for the black sheet on one side and the black sheet on the other side. In the eastern section, the agreement was signed on 17th January 2077 and the work started on 2nd Baisakh 2078. The contract for the eastern section has been awarded to China Communication Construction. 

After the increase in traffic on the road, which was planned in the year 2026, the road is going to be made four-lane with the loan support of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The contract for the eastern section is worth 6 billion 21 crore 31 lakh 13 thousand rupees.

65 percent progress in Madi bridge

65.07 percent physical progress has been made in the under-construction bridge over the Madi river connecting Beas Municipality-4 and 5. Under the Muglin-Pokhara road plan, the bridge under construction over Madi river has progressed more than 65.07 percent so far. Similarly, the project has reported 52.43 percent economic progress. 

Bishnu Prasad Pandey, Engineer of Muglin-Pokhara Road Plan (Eastern Section), said that the construction of the bridge has gained momentum. The bridge will have six spans. The construction company signed a contract for one billion and 21 million rupees to complete the 315-meter-long bridge within three years. The contract of the said bridge has been received by ZIST Annak JV. 

Prithvi Highway's longest arch design bridge will have four lanes. Currently, the two-lane bridge over the river is 370 meters long. A new bridge is being constructed at a distance of about 50 meters from the same bridge.
