A survey of hydropower production has been started at eight different places in the district. They started the survey after the Electricity Development Department granted survey permission to eight companies to produce electricity from six rivers and streams.
Two companies have received permission for electricity production survey in Budhigandaki. Survey permission has been given to Chilime Hydropower Company for the construction of 'Budhigandaki Proc-1 Hydropower Project' with a capacity of 93 MW in Proc. Both companies are engaged in the survey to complete the survey within the current financial year.
Nabil Developers has received permission to construct the 'Upper Budhigandaki Hydropower Project' with a capacity of 203 MW in Chunchet and Sirdibas. Pelma Hydropower Project has been granted survey permission to produce 90 megawatts of hydropower from Marsyangdi . This company has said that it will complete the survey work for the construction of `` Marsyangdi Khola hydropower project'' in Palungtar municipality of Gorkha and Bhanu municipality of Tanahun within the coming October.
MA Energy Ventures has also received a permit to conduct a hydroelectric survey in Gorkha. The company is going to survey the construction of 'Daraudi/Marsyangdi hydropower project' with a capacity of 14.9 megawatts from Deurali, Mankamana and Bakrang in Daraudi in Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality.
Khandah Hydropower Pvt Ltd has started surveying for the construction of 'Super Daraudi Khola E Hydropower Project'. The company said that the survey of the proposed 9.4 megawatt capacity project to be built in Barpak will be done by July 2083.
Gorkha Darodi Hydropower Pvt Ltd has taken permission for construction of seven megawatt capacity hydropower project in Dordi river of Barpak. The company is conducting a survey for the construction of 'Super Daraudi-Paukhola Hydroelectric Project' by October 2083. Meta Urja Pvt Ltd has said that it is conducting a survey for the construction of 5.2 megawatt 'Upper Dobhan Khola Hydropower Project' in Dobhan Khola of Dharche Rural Municipality-1 so that it can be completed by December 2083.
Likewise, Pelton Hydro Energy Pvt Ltd has taken survey permission for the construction of the 'Upper Yaru River Hydroelectric Project' with a capacity of 13 MW from the Yaru river in Kerauja. The company has said that it has started the survey work to be completed by January 2083.
