Preparations have been made to announce Pokhara Visit Year with the goal of bringing 2 million domestic and foreign tourists to Pokhara, the tourist capital of the country.

Dhanraj Acharya, head of the city, said that Pokhara Metropolitan Municipality has prepared to hold the official announcement ceremony of Pokhara Visit Year 2025 at the Pokhara Exhibition Center on February 3rd.  For the preparation of the

announcement ceremony, a 1,050-member organizing committee under the coordination of the city head teacher, a director committee led by the head teacher, and 43 subcommittees including the performance committee representing the tourism sector have been formed.

In these committees and sub-committees, there are representatives of governmental and non-governmental organizations active in the Pokhara metropolitan area, all four security agencies, industrialists, information and communication sector, representatives of political parties, local village development organizations, rights workers and representatives of civil society. 

"We are gearing up for the grand announcement of Pokhara Visit Year. We are consulting and discussing with everyone. "Ambassadors of various countries will also participate to make the visit a success," Acharya said.  On the occasion of the

visit year, preparations have been made to announce a goodwill ambassador to promote Pokhara abroad. Pokhara's tourism promotion activities will be conducted throughout the year. In the joint initiative of Pokhara Metropolitan City and Gandaki Provincial Government, a large tableau rally will be held from all 33 wards of the metropolis with local costumes.
