The foundation day of Gandaki State Assembly and Gandaki State Government will be celebrated on the same day. Earlier, Gandaki State Assembly on January 22 and State Government Establishment Day on February 4 were celebrated separately. The first meeting of the Gandaki Provincial Assembly was held on 22 January 2074. The same day was celebrated as the foundation day by the provincial assembly. Founder Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung took oath on 4th February 2074. The first meeting of the Council of Ministers was also held on the same day.
The provincial government had been celebrating that day as the foundation day. On the occasion of the Foundation Day, the government had been giving a public holiday throughout the state on February 4. The holiday has also been reduced from this time.
