Girls in Gorkha are going to be vaccinated to prevent cervical cancer. In this process, 10 thousand 168 girls of the district will be vaccinated against HPV.

Preparations are underway for the vaccination campaign from January 22. The vaccination campaign will last for two days. Nanibabu Dani, District Health Office Gorkha Vaccination Cold Chain Inspector who vaccinates 6th to 10th class girls studying in the school, said.

The vaccination campaign is going to be conducted targeting girls in the age group of 10 to 14 years. 196 vaccination centers have been determined for the vaccination campaign. He also informed that an orientation program is being conducted for health workers, volunteers and stakeholders for the operation of the campaign. 

Ishwar Regmi, the head of the municipality's health department, said that 2,573 girls will be vaccinated in Gorkha municipality. During the campaign, out-of-school students in the target age group will also be included, he said.
