Gandaki will give 4,000 per month to a pregnant woman for 6 months

Gandaki Rural Municipality is going to provide money to pregnant women at the rate of 4,000 per month for 6 months to improve nutrition. From the 17th village meeting of the municipality held on Friday, it was decided to provide funds to pregnant women on a monthly basis.

Bimal Regmi, public health inspector of the health branch, said that it has been decided to provide funds at the rate of 4,000 per month to pregnant women. He said that funds are going to be provided for nutritional improvement. "It is expected that people will eat nutritious food with the amount provided by the village, and nutrition will improve," he said. 

He also said that funds will be provided to women who undergo regular check-ups at health institutions in the rural municipality.  Rs. 22 lakhs have been allocated for the current financial year to provide funds to pregnant women, said Rural Municipality Chairman Deepak Timalsina. "We have seen the problem of malnutrition among children, we are going to provide funds for them to eat nutritious food," he said.
