After the bridge was broken due to a vehicle carrying more than 60 tons of heavy goods, an alternative road has been constructed on Binayi river in Dumkibas and traffic has been operated.
The bridge of Binayi Khola was broken on Friday evening due to a truck carrying goods weighing more than 60 tons entering Nepal from the Krishnanagar Customs Office in Kapilvastu. According to District Police Information Officer JC Shah, a diversion road has been constructed from Dumkibas Bazar, which is 400 meters west of the bridge, passing through North CG Cement Road and going to Honsi Cement Chowk.
DSP Shah informed that all the vehicles stopped on the highway have been sent through alternative routes. This alternate road is about 7 km winding. According to District Police Information Officer JC Shah, the bridge was broken when a 74-wheeler Indian cargo lorry was bringing goods from Hetaunda-based Shivaom Cement Industry. The cargo it carried was heavier than 60 tons.
A cargo truck loaded with heavy loads was pushed by two dozers on Friday afternoon after it could not climb the mountain.
