Police have arrested 48 defendants who were absconding after the Kaski District Court pronounced judgment in various cases.
DSP Basant Kumar Sharma of the District Police Office informed that 48 absconders who were found guilty in various cases were arrested and submitted to the court during the last month of October.
They have been brought to the district court to pay the prescribed prison sentence and sent to jail. According to him, there are 36 men and 12 women.
They will be sentenced to 1 year, 6 months and 6 days imprisonment, and a fine of Rs.
According to the police data, there are 35 defendants in the highest number of check dishonor cases. Similarly, there are 5 in the drug case, 1 in the indecent behavior case, 1 in the criminal nuisance case, 1 in the corruption case by damaging public property, 4 in the banking offense case and one in the transaction case.
