Migrant Nepali Association of Myagdi (MONA) Australia is going to organize an open photo competition to promote tourism in the home district of Myagdi.
In the photo contest to be organized in collaboration with the Myagdi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a cash prize of one lakh rupees will be awarded to the best photos that reflect the religious, cultural and public life of Myagdi and contribute to the promotion of tourism in the district. The second and third place photos in the competition will get 50,000 and 25,000 rupees.
MONA Australia, the organizer of the photo contest that reflects the surroundings of Myagdi, has informed through a video conference on Saturday. It is said that the information related to the photo should be at least 500 words.
Spokesman Hikmat Shrestha said that the photos to be published on Mona Australia's Facebook page will be evaluated based on likes, shares and comments. Photos can be sent through Facebook Messenger until August 14 and the organization will publish the competition photos on its Facebook page on August 15. The best photo will be selected on August 19.
'It is not a competition of photos taken by professional journalists, but we are going to do such a competition on the basis that even ordinary people of the district can take photos of their villages that are of tourist importance,' Baburam Paudel, photo competition coordinator of MONA Australia, said, We are going to do such a competition with the aim of promoting the venue as much as possible.
