Independent MP Rajeev Gurung (Deepak Manange) who was elected twice from Manang state constituency 1(2) became a minister three times in the first and second terms of the Gandaki state government. In the government led by Surendraraj Pandey of the Congress, the case against him, who is still the Minister of Physical Infrastructure Development and Transport, is still pending in the Supreme Court.

He joined RPP from Congress when he was known as Gunda Nike. In the election of 2074, he was elected as an independent candidate in Manang State Assembly Constituency 1(2). On January 7, 2074, when all the MPs of Gandaki State Assembly took oath, he did not get it. At that time, he was on the list of fugitives after being convicted in the murder industry case.

Manange's group is accused of hitting Milan Gurung, also known as Nike Chakra Milan, on 061 . In that incident, the police registered a case of dutiful killing against him, but the district court of Kathmandu ruled that it was a beating and not a dutiful killing, and sentenced Manange to two years in prison .

Ganesh Lama, Revat Karki, Ramesh Sunuwar and Umesh Lama were acquitted in that incident. The Appellate Court, Patan, overturned the verdict in 2006 and sentenced Manange to five years in prison, judging the case of murder industry. The police put him in the list of fugitives.

After he was elected MP for the first time, he appeared in the Patan High Court in 2075 and was sent to Dillibazar Jail. Filed a writ in the Supreme Court against the decision of the High Court. By abusing the facility of appealing the case without going to jail in the case punishable by less than 10 years under the Criminal Code of 2074, he was released after spending 8 months in jail . After being released, he entered the Gandaki Provincial Assembly by taking oath as a member of the Provincial Assembly a year after being elected. The case of the killing industry against him has been moving time and again in the Supreme Court. In another case related to money laundering, he was acquitted by a special court in 2074.

A few months after attending the parliament, he joined the then CPN. Ever since he became an MP, he has not been free from controversy. He was arrested after slapping Milan Gurung, the then president of the Kaski District Football Association. He has been decisive in the power equation since the tenure of the first state assembly. He became the Minister of Youth and Sports three times in the first term, and the Minister of Physical Infrastructure three times in the second term.

Prithvisubba Gurung, Krishnachandra Nepali, Khagraj Adhikari and Surendraraj Pandey, who have been chief ministers in Gandaki so far, he is the only state assembly member to have the good fortune to become a minister easily. After the CPN split in 2077, the Maoist Center withdrew its support to Prithvisubba Gurung. Gurung handed over the Ministry of Youth and Sports to Manange on May 16, 2078 to protect the government.

Gurung split the Ministry of Social Development and handed over the Ministry of Sports to Manange. However, Gurung, who was in the minority after the split of the CPN, resigned and became the Chief Minister again as a major party. He gave Manange another chance. After the fall of Prithvisubba's government, on May 29, 2078, Manange killed the Sports Ministry again with the help of Krishna Chandra Nepali Pokharel of Congress.

Manange was unanimously elected in the 2079 election. Entered into the integrated socialists with the greed of the minister. UML's Khagraj Adhikari was elected Chief Minister with the support of Maoist Center, RPP and Manange. But he did not make Manange a minister. The Maoist Center withdrew its support to the officer and supported Surendraraj Pandey of the Congress as the Chief Minister on 14 Baisakh 2080. Pandey's government fell into a minority in 080 Chait after the equation was changed at the centre. Pandey handed over the physical infrastructure ministry to Manange on May 29 to protect the government. The day after he left the United Socialist Party, he got an opportunity to become a minister.
