The Mahakali highway has been blocked due to a landslide in Salsena of Dogdakedar Rural Municipality of Baitadi.
Monday night's incessant rain caused a landslide on Tuesday morning around 9:30 a.m. The highway was blocked after a landslide fell in Salsena under the Satbanjh-Gokuleshwar road section of the Mahakali highway, Police Inspector Balram Pandey, spokesman of District Police Office Baitadi said .
After the highway was blocked, trains leaving for different districts from Darchula and night trains leaving for Darchula from Terai were stopped midway. Similarly, the vehicles leaving from Baitadi for Gokuleshwar and from Gokuleshwar for Baitadi are also stopped on the way.
He said that coordination is being done with Dogdakedar Rural Municipality and Road Division Office Baitadi to clear the landslide on the highway. Traffic to Gokuleswar, Dilasaini of Darchula and Baitadi will be stopped when this highway is blocked .
