The teachers and staff of Karnali Institute of Health Sciences Teaching Hospital Jumla have protested. 58 teachers and staff who were eligible for promotion protested because they have not been promoted for a long time.

 On Monday, they announced the protest through a press conference at the establishment premises while working in the office by tying a black belt .

They have announced programs such as pendown on Tuesday, November 27th, asking the district coordination committee to call an all-party meeting on Wednesday regarding the non-promotion of those who have reached the process, and if there is no hearing by the officials by Thursday, they will stop all services except the hospital and continue the regular protest  .

has expressed through a statement that it is a pity that the permanent staff who have been working in the establishment for a long time are not being promoted. Even earlier, there was a case in the court when the officials refused to promote the 10 employees of the establishment who were eligible for promotion .

High Court Surkhet jumla bench ordered in favor of employees . After the officials refused to implement the court's decision, the employees started protesting again . After that, on 21 August 2080, a two-party agreement was reached and the letter of promotion was given on 8 October.

Employees say that the same situation is repeated now. At that time, there was an agreement between the employees and officers of the establishment on 6 points, including that the promotion process of all the remaining permanent employees will be continued from 1st October 2080 and they will be given additional responsibilities based on qualifications and procedures until they are promoted.

Now procedurally, 58 teachers and staff are on the promotion list. But officials are not agreeing to be promoted . On August 26, the court gave a verdict in favor of the employee. After the full text of the court, on October 16th and October 9th, the employees submitted a written application to the officials to implement the decision, but they complained that there was no response.

On November 23, a meeting of 58 teachers and staff informed the officials that they would hold a pressing program the next day. On the same day, there was also a discussion between officials and employees. In the talks, it was agreed to take the proposal to the assembly meeting and convocation ceremony of the foundation to be held on November 28th in the presence of Chancellor and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and through the decision of the executive council.

"We, the teaching staff, have decided that it is a matter of irony that the head of the office is negative towards the institution and the staff," he said. Established in 2068, Karnali Institute of Health Sciences has a 3-bed hospital. More than 400 teachers and staff are working in this institution, which is running undergraduate and postgraduate educational programs.
