Chayannath Rara, the only municipality in the district, has released a budget of 602.6771 thousand rupees for the next financial year 2081/2082.
Municipal Deputy Mayor Aishwarya Malla Shahi presented the budget in the 15th Municipal Assembly held on Wednesday. According to him, 31 million, 14,30,000 have been allocated for capital and 29,11,70,000 for operational.
Out of the total budget for income sources, 1 crore 41 lakhs from the state government for equalization, 27 lakh 47 thousand rupees for conditional grants from the state government.
Similarly, the federal government has 11.79 million rupees for equalization, 11.23 million rupees for revenue sharing and 27.6 million rupees for conditional grants. Municipal deputy chief Shahi said that the municipality has set a target of raising 15 million in revenue in the coming financial year.
Earlier, Mayor Bishnu Kumar Bham, while submitting the policy and program of the municipality to the assembly, said that he had given priority to the One House, One Dhara program. He said that the program was included in the policy and program in accordance with the objective of providing pure and clean drinking water to 87 settlements within the city.
