Congress candidate Bhupamani Punmagar has been elected as the ward president of Runtigadhi rural municipality-4 of Rolpa. According to the public election results on Sunday evening, he got 643 votes.
His nearest rival Begum Pun of UML got 535 votes . In the previous election, there was a difference of 8 votes between Congress and UML candidates.
Out of all 1900 voters, 1297 votes fell . The candidate of the Maoist center in that position got 70 votes.
The by-election was held after the death of Ward Chairman Tank Bahadur Pun, who was elected on behalf of the Congress in the local elections held in 2079. Pun died last June due to screw typhus during treatment at Rapti Health Science Institute in Dang.
