The production of upper Tamakoshi has stopped due to floods. Since Friday night, the water of the Tamakoshi river has exceeded the water level, the production of the hydropower plant has been stopped.

On Friday night, the flow of the Tamakoshi River was measured at 285 cubic meters. The Center has estimated that the flood started on Friday night because the Joom river and the Lapchi river in the area above the dam of Tamakoshi got blocked somewhere.

Purnagopal Ranjit, Head of Upper Tamakoshi Hydropower Station, said that due to the flood in Tamakoshi, the road in Gogar, where the power plant is located, the structure of the tailrace of the power station and the electric poles of the 33 KV transmission line were damaged.

Tamakoshi's dam site is filled with floodwaters from the upper region. He said that production will be restarted if the flow of tobacco starts to flow below 200 cubic meters. Similarly, one person has gone missing in Dogang of Gaurishankar rural municipality-9 due to the flood in Rolwaling river on Friday night and the missing person is Jangmu Sherpa, 65 years old from the same village, according to the police.
