Patheka is reached after an hour's north road from the headquarters Diktel. That same Patheka has been called Redpanda village today. Patheka is now taking the form of a market.

Redpanda's hoarding board is pasted in the beach market. Besides  The slogan 'Let's protect the red panda, protect the environment, promote tourism' is on everyone's lips. Red Panda is known as Kundo by the locals.

Today there is talk of Red Panda in this village. From children to old people, from school to house to house, they are discussing about Red Panda. Diktel Roopakot is known as Pathe's Village of Red Panda in Ward No. 10 of Mazhuwagadhi Municipality. Locals here have started to know Red Panda as Red Panda only recently, said Shahramani Rai, a ward member.

'Earlier, our village was known as Kundo,' Rai said, 'Nowadays, that same Kundo has started to be called Redpanda.' It is called Redpanda village because Redpanda can be found in the dense forests of various community forests of that place. It is a custom here to give Redpanda branded bags and teams to the guests who come to the said ward.

Ward Chairman Mugadhan Rai said that the purpose of redpanda conservation and tourism promotion is to give gifts of red panda marks. "There are a lot of red pandas in our area, with the aim of protecting it and promoting tourism, the red panda mark has been given," Rai said. Among the Kopche, Merung, Dhungefurke and Charsande community forests of the said ward, red pandas are found in the Kopche and Merung community forests.

Although the number of red pandas in these forests is not certain, there are many people who meet red pandas and take photos. Rajan Baniyan, a teacher of the local Saraswati Mavi, said that the number could be high as they sometimes come to the village. "There may be many red pandas, there are many people who meet them and take photos," he said, "When it snowed a few years ago, it fell in the village." He said that after finding the dead body, he informed the police and the forest office. Baniyan said that the police and forest staff recovered the dead red panda and conducted a post-mortem and took it to Akhetophar.

Even though red pandas are found in the village's community forests, the ward's budget is not enough for its protection, said the ward chairman Rai. 'The capital budget of the ward is 35 lakhs, this budget cannot be allocated for red panda conservation,' Rai said, 'even if four to five lakh rupees were to be allocated to the city, it was not allocated.' With the financial support of the network, Janakalyan Samaj Nepal has been running the program since 2023, Ward Chairman Rai said.

Rai said that the organization is conducting various public awareness programs related to red pandas from schools to tolls through the community-based Habre conservation project. Under this, Heralu has also been kept in community forests with red pandas.

Tikaram Rai and Ramkumar Rai in Kopche and Pushpalal Giri and Tankprasad Puri in Merung Community Forest have been assigned as Heralu. They monitor four times a year. According to Saroj Pokharel, program officer of community-based Habre conservation project, an allowance of 3,000 rupees per person will be given once during monitoring.

Mayor Tirtharaj Bhattarai said that although the budget has not been allocated, talks are being held with various non-governmental organizations/organizations.
