DSP Khadka said that possible places have also been identified for the immediate rescue and relocation of the district residents who are at high risk of floods and landslides in case of disaster. Khadka said that in the event of a disaster, they will be rescued and kept in schools and public buildings in the district. According to him, 6,855 people can be accommodated in various schools and public buildings. The police have also started 24-hour emergency services to reduce the risk of disaster in the district.
The District Disaster Management Committee is also ready to provide immediate rescue and relief in view of the natural disaster, said Chief District Officer Shivkumar Karki, the coordinator of the committee. "All the three security agencies and the Red Cross have been asked to be on standby for disaster management in the district," Karki said.
Karki told that all the local levels in the district have also been sent a letter to be prepared in their respective areas for rescue and relief distribution. Karki also said that in the event of a disaster, the District Disaster Management Committee will collaborate with the local levels in the district to carry out rescue and relief work.
