Executive members submitted a letter to Mayor Balendra Shah (Balen) on May 12, requesting to hold an executive meeting of Kathmandu Metropolitan City. Spokesman Navin Manandhar said that there was a plan to hold an executive meeting on May 19, but that too could not take place. Also, Mayor Balen has not said anything about when the meeting will be held.

According to the Local Government Operation Act, 2074, the local level has to submit the budget by the 10th of June. But the meeting of the executive committee of Kathmandu metropolis has not been held for the past six months. In this situation, all the executive members are waiting for the executive meeting.

'We are waiting for the executive . So far, the road to this has not been opened," he said. "After giving the written letter for the meeting, the mayor should call us. Now we have to wait .' 

All elected representatives of the metropolis are members of the executive. The meeting is chaired by the Mayor. Also, the mayor has the right to call a meeting. People's representatives elected from the Congress of the metropolis met Mayor Balen on March 10, 2081 and demanded an executive meeting. 

'This has been written for the second time . He said that it is the responsibility of the mayor to call the meeting, he said, "Now whether to entrust the chief administrative officer to call the meeting or he knows what to do." But he said that all the members are of the opinion that the plan for the next financial year should be submitted and an executive meeting should be called to solve the problems within the metropolis.

Similarly, Ishwarman Dangol, Chairman of Mahanagara Ward 15, said that the executive meeting should be held soon as the needs of the citizens have to be addressed. The meeting should be held under the chairmanship of the mayor. We have submitted an application," he said, "and now the discussion is going on. Maybe it will be settled soon.'

He said that the meeting should be held as soon as the executive will reveal the things that have been elected and the people's representatives have been elected. was . Since then, the assembly and executive meeting of the metropolis has not been held. 

The Local Government Operation Act provides for the meeting of the executive to be held at least once a month. Likewise, the metropolis has prepared "Kathmandu Metropolitan Municipality, Municipal Assembly Operating Procedures, 2074" for the conduct of the executive meeting. According to the procedures, if the session of the assembly has not been started or the meeting has been postponed, if a written request is made by one quarter of the members of the assembly that it is appropriate to call the meeting, the chairman will set the date and place of holding such a meeting . It is mentioned that the session of the assembly will be held on the date, time and place specified in that manner. But Mayor Balen has not yet informed the executive members when the meeting of the executive will be held.  ''The meeting must be held according to the rules and laws,'' Ward President Dangol said, 'We are confident that the meeting must be held.'
