Chief Minister Indra Bahadur Baniya recommended the division of responsibilities to the Provincial Head after reshuffling the Council of Ministers formed in accordance with Article 168, Clause (2) of the Constitution of Nepal.
After the coalition with UML broke down, leaving Chief Minister Baniya in the minority, he has decided to take charge of the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers himself. Similarly, Shivraj Adhikari has been assigned the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Law, and Cooperatives; Urmila Nepal has been given the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Forests, and Environment; and Kanchan Chandra Badel has been assigned the Ministry of Health and Social Development.
Likewise, Prabhat Tamang has been assigned the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning; Suresh Shrestha, the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Labor, and Transport; Krishna Kumar Tamang, the Ministry of Drinking Water, Energy, and Irrigation; and Binu Rayamajhi Paudel, the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development.
Chief Minister Baniya stated that the division of responsibilities among the ministries was carried out to make the performance of the Council of Ministers more effective, coordinated, and result-oriented.
