All six ministers from the CPN (UML) in the Bagmati Province government have resigned en masse.

With the end of the power partnership between the Nepali Congress and the UML at the central level, the UML has decided to withdraw from the government in order to form a new power equation for the province government.

According to UML parliamentary party leader Jagannath Khatiwada, the ministers will formally inform Chief Minister Indra Bahadur Baniya by submitting their resignations at 11 am.

The ministers who have resigned are Minister for Industry, Commerce, Land and Administration Bindu Shrestha, Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development Dr. Dinesh Chandra Devkota, Minister for Health Kiran Thapa, Minister for Forests and Environment Bharat Bahadur KC, Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development Madhusudan Poudel and Minister for Labor, Employment and Transport Jayaram Thapa.
