A father has died after being beaten by his own son in Gangajmuna Rural Municipality-4, Yarsa Tol (Biktol) of Dhading.
On Saturday afternoon, during a dispute over a domestic matter, 35-year-old Sujan Sunar hit his 60-year-old father Dhan Narayan Sunar on the head with a three-foot-long iron pipe. Although the seriously injured Sunar was immediately taken to Phulkharka Rural Hospital, doctors declared him dead at around 7 pm during treatment.
In this regard, according to Gangajmuna-4 Ward Chairman Prem Ghale, the accused involved in the incident had been suffering from mental imbalance for a long time. He had previously been involved in various incidents in the family and despite efforts by the ward office to remind the family and help them reduce the problem, the family did not take it seriously, Ward Chairman Ghale said.
Immediately after the incident, the accused was taken into custody and handed over to the police with the active participation of Ward Chairman Ghale and local youth.
The body of the deceased has been brought to the District Hospital, Dhading for postmortem, while the accused, Sujan Sunar, is currently under the custody of the District Police Office, Dhading.
