Police have arrested a young man who escaped from Bhimphedi Prison during the Genji movement.

On the night of last Bhadra 24, Shishir Pariyar, 25, of Bagmati Rural Municipality-5, Makawanpur, who escaped by breaking the wall of Bhimphedi Prison, was arrested by the police from Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-10 Bus Park.

The court had sentenced Pariyar to 1 year and 3 months in prison on the charge of stealing a motorcycle. Pariyar was in the 'K' block of Bhimphedi Prison to serve the sentence.
Of the 440 prisoners who escaped from Bhimphedi Prison during the Genji movement, 127 are still at large as of Friday morning. 26 of them are Indian citizens.

Of the 440 prisoners who escaped from Bhimphedi Prison, security personnel have arrested 313 from various places in Makawanpur. 39 Indian nationals escaped by breaking the prison wall. Subash Poudel, the chief of Bhimphedi Prison, said that 13 of them had entered the prison.

440 prisoners, 260 from Block A and 180 from Block B, escaped by breaking the three gates of the prison and demolishing the western wall. When the prisoners tried to escape by breaking the prison wall, three prisoners were injured by bullets fired by security personnel.
