The 14th municipal assembly of the municipality has brought a budget of 3.71 billion 8.741 billion rupees for the fiscal year 2083/84.
The policy and program and budget for the upcoming fiscal year were presented in the municipal assembly. Mayor Surendra Shrestha presented the policy and program for 083/84 in the assembly, while Deputy Mayor Bijay Krishna Shrestha presented the budget statement.
The passed budget prioritizes education, health, agriculture, tourism, infrastructure development, environmental protection, social security and cultural heritage protection. The municipality has stated that it will run programs to expand quality education, strengthen school infrastructure and create a modern educational environment.
Under the health sector, a policy has been adopted to provide easy, accessible and quality health services to the city residents, enhance the capacity of health institutions and make public health-related programs effective.
As Madhyapur Thimi is a city known for its rich cultural identity, historical heritage and original civilization, special programs and budgets have been arranged for the conservation, reconstruction and promotion of historical monasteries, temples, pati-pauwa, baah-bahi, devasthal and cultural heritage.
In addition, the goal is to further strengthen the local economy by promoting cultural tourism.
The municipal council has also prioritized programs to respect senior citizens, improve health security and enhance social participation.
