Three people died when a motorcycle hit a pedestrian in Chhatapipara, Jitpursimara Sub-metropolitan City-9, Bara on Monday evening. The accident occurred when a motorcycle (Ba68Pa 7591) heading from Jitpur to Birgunj hit a pedestrian crossing the road at Chhatapipara Chowk.

Two youths riding the motorcycle and a pedestrian died in the accident, said District Police Office Police Spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police Min Bahadur Ghale. Only two of the deceased have been identified.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Ghale, the deceased in the accident are Sabya Adhikari, 20, a resident of Pathlaiya, Jitpursimara-1, and currently residing in Kathmandu, and the motorcycle driver, Dijen Joshi, of Kathmandu Tokha Municipality. He said that the identity of the pedestrian is yet to be revealed. 

Although all three people who were seriously injured in the accident were taken to the hospital, the doctors declared them dead, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Ghale. According to him, the bodies of Joshi and Adhikari, among the deceased, are at Bayodha Hospital, while the body of the pedestrian has been kept at Narayani Hospital.
