The Bagmati Province Government has put forward various programs for the fiscal year 2083/84, prioritizing the development and promotion of the tourism sector. According to the budget statement presented by Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning Prabhat Tamang in the provincial assembly on Monday, the Bagmati Province Tourism Strategic Plan (2025-2040) will be implemented effectively.

Under this, it is mentioned that Chitwan will be developed as a Meeting, Incentive, Conference and Exhibition (MICE) tourism center. The provincial government has also adopted a policy to promote yoga, meditation, wellness, jungle safari and adventure tourism. Minister Tamang said that the necessary budget and programs have been arranged for the operation of adventure tourism activities such as hiking, cycling and marathons, targeting the international market.

Emphasizing tourism along with forest and environment-friendly economic activities, the government has stated that it will encourage forest product-based enterprises, green employment, ecotourism, and the conservation, production, processing, and marketing of timber, forest fruits, and herbs in accordance with the policy of 'Green Forest: A Tool for Prosperity'.

Similarly, the budget states that the practice of collecting taxes by re-registering industries and businesses registered or permitted under laws such as the Provincial Tourism Act will be ended by the local level, thereby creating an environment where investors will not be burdened with double taxation.

The provincial government has allocated Rs 5.375574 billion to operate programs under the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Labor, and Transport for the upcoming fiscal year.

The government has also stated that the economy of Bagmati Province is among the leading in the country. In the current fiscal year, Bagmati Province's contribution to the country's gross domestic product is estimated to reach 36.7 percent, while the province's economic growth rate is projected to be 5.40 percent. The province's per capita income is estimated to reach 2,644 US dollars, which is higher than other provinces.
