Bagmati Province Chief Deepak Prasad Devkota has said that Hetauda is an important city located in the center of the country and its future is bright.
Inaugurating the 'Prosperous Hetauda Debate' program organized by Hetauda Municipality on Monday, Province Chief Devkota urged everyone to work together to make Hetauda, which is naturally beautiful, an environmentally friendly and attractive city. He argued that cooperation from all sectors is necessary to build a prosperous Hetauda. At the program, former Chief Minister of Bagmati Province Dormani Poudel said that since municipalities are the government that citizens see and meet, the people's representatives of the municipalities should be free from pressure and prejudice. He emphasized that the first thing to maintain good governance in the country is that the people's representatives should be disciplined and dignified.
Provincial Assembly member Ekalal Shrestha expressed his views at the inauguration program of the debate program chaired by Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City Mayor Meena Kumari Lama.
The first session of the ‘Prosperous Hetauda Debate’ program was titled ‘Local Government: Public Expectations, Good Governance and Future Directions’. In the debate program, Lalitpur Metropolitan City Mayor Chiribabu Maharjan, Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor Dhanraj Acharya, Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City Mayor Meena Kumari Lama, and Bhimphedi Rural Municipality Chairman Hidam Lama shared their views. The participants of the session, moderated by journalist Rajendra Baniya, expressed their views on how to make Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City prosperous. 
Similarly, former Secretary Kishore Thapa, urban expert Dr. Kirtikusum Joshi, and Hetauda Municipality Deputy Mayor Rajesh Baniya shared their views on the development of Hetauda and future priorities. The program was facilitated by journalist Sugarika KC.
The one-day program ‘Prosperous Hetauda Debate’ featured debates on four topics: ‘Local Government: Public Expectations, Good Governance and Future Directions’, ‘Creative Hetauda: Struggle, Enterprise and Flight’, ‘Development of Hetauda and Future Priorities’ and ‘Cultivated, Inclusive and Residential City’. The debate program was attended by public representatives, experts and stakeholders.
