Dhanukumar Shrestha, 25, of Manthali Municipality-1, has successfully climbed Mount Everest, the world's highest peak. He set out on a climbing journey with a British climbing team on Chaitra 26. Shrestha set foot on the peak of Mount Everest at 1 pm last Thursday.
According to Shrestha's father Tanka Kumar Shrestha, Dhanukumar got in touch with his family after descending to the second camp on Friday night. He had also sent a photo of him reaching the summit of Mount Everest to his family. 'When 274 climbers reached Mount Everest in a single day, the news came that my son had also reached it,' Tanka Kumar said, 'This is not only a matter of pride for our family, but for the entire Ramechhap.'
According to him, Dhanukumar reached Lukla by helicopter on Monday. 'Now, after returning home, I want to hold a press conference and tell everyone about my experience,' he said.

He had been trying to climb Mount Everest continuously for 2-3 years,' she said, 'He failed repeatedly but never lost courage. Today he succeeded. What greater happiness can there be for parents than this?'
