Mahabharat Rural Municipality located in Dandapari, Kavrepalanchok has succeeded in becoming a zero-debt municipality this year as well. According to the audit report of the fiscal year 2081/82, an audit of Rs 1.137 billion was conducted in Mahabharat Rural Municipality.

This is the third time that the municipality has succeeded in achieving zero-debt in the previous two fiscal years. Mahabharat Rural Municipality Chairman Kanchhalal Jimba said that the municipality has succeeded in achieving zero-debt in the process of implementing the acts, laws and budgets passed by the federal, provincial and local governments.

He said that the municipality has been able to achieve zero-debt continuously by working within the rules and laws as per the commitment made by the people's representatives and employees collectively, paying attention to increasing capital expenditure by reducing operating expenses and not donating funds along with the proper implementation of the budget. The rural municipality has succeeded in achieving 'zero-debt' for the third consecutive time and has been able to send an exemplary message to local levels across the country.

According to the public report, among the 13 local levels of Kavrepalanchok, Mandandeupur has the lowest 0.05 percent, or Rs 1 million 49 thousand, of the total audited amount, in the municipality. Similarly, Chaurideurali has 0.18 percent in the rural municipality.

The report mentions that Panauti Municipality in the district has 3.04 percent, Namobuddha 1.38, Dhulikhel 0.68, Banepa 0.71, Panchkhal 0.1, Bethanchok Rural Municipality 0.55, Temal 0.5, Khanikhola 0.58, Roshi 0.62 and Bhumlu Rural Municipality 0.68 percent in the rural municipality.
