Disabled people have gone rafting in groups on the Bhotekoshi and Sunkoshi rivers, known for their adventure rafting. Seventy disabled people rafted at once in a program organized in Sukute, a tourist area of the district.

The program, which began on Wednesday and was organized by the Swavalamban Jeevan Patadi Kendra Sindhupalchowk, concluded on Thursday evening. According to the center's general secretary Krishna Timalsina, although 104 disabled people from all over the country participated in the program, only 70 people rafted based on their health condition and ability. He said that the participants had returned to their respective places by Friday.

Timalsina said that the program was organized with the slogan 'Needs of disabled people, equal inclusion in tourism and sports'. The Sukute Tourism Entrepreneurs Association and other tourism entrepreneurs provided boards and river guides free of charge for the rafting.

The program was supported by various organizations and individuals, including the Freedom Social Foundation.   Mahendra Singh Thapa, president of the Sukute Tourism Entrepreneurs Association, said that this program sent a message that people with disabilities can also contribute to adventure tourism.
