Two brothers were found murdered and hidden in a river in Kimtang, Myagang Rural Municipality-4, Nuwakot on Wednesday.
According to Bikram Lama, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, the bodies of Somnath Tamang, 43, and his brother Suryaman Tamang, 36, residents of Kimtangbesi were found murdered and hidden in the Kimtang River.
A person who gave information about the crime to the police on Tuesday night over the phone, said that he had committed the crime, and when they were searched, they were found murdered and hidden in the river with stones. 'The body was recovered based on the information given by the person that he had killed them and fled after a dispute over a financial transaction,' said Pranau Lama. 'The search for the person is underway now. Details will be revealed after he is arrested.'
Although the person who gave information about the crime and the location of the crime committed committed suicide by shooting himself, the police have recovered a khukuri from the crime scene. According to family members, the murdered brothers had been missing since they left to build a canal on Tuesday morning.
The incident site is about a five-hour walk from the road. Police said the bodies will be brought to Trishuli Hospital from the incident site this evening for an autopsy.
