The Chief Minister of Bagmati Province has drawn attention to the raids on his house and the office of a former company he was involved in and said he would fully cooperate with the investigation.
On Monday, the Money Laundering Investigation Department raided the Chief Minister's residence in Hetauda and Kathmandu and the office of the Baniya Nirman Sevas, to which he was involved, and seized documents. In a press release issued after the incident, the Chief Minister stated that he took the investigation positively. He claimed that since he became the Chief Minister, he has been working by prioritizing good governance, transparency and building a corruption-free society. He also said that policy initiatives have been taken to control the expenditure of the provincial government, maintain frugality and transparency in planning.
However, he mentioned that the raids carried out based on news in the media have hurt his personal and social character. He expressed objection to the sudden raids despite being ready to appear if called by the state bodies.
The Chief Minister has made it clear that he will fully support all investigations within the constitutional and legal framework and has urged the people of Bagmati Province not to be confused or worried.
