Gokulganga Rural Municipality has decided to operate all government offices, schools and health institutions regularly even on Sundays. The village executive meeting held on Tuesday made the decision and stated that this rule will be implemented from Wednesday, April 16.
According to Rural Municipality Chairman Kazi Bahadur Khadka, it is believed that this decision will make service delivery more effective. Now, offices, ward offices, educational institutions and health institutions under the rural municipality will operate on Sundays like other working days.
One of the main reasons for the decision is to minimize educational losses. Chairman Khadka said that the rural municipality took this decision after it was seen that students would not be able to complete the prescribed annual teaching hours and that it would affect the quality of education.
Similarly, the decision also mentions that Sundays are not necessary to save fuel due to the geographical location of the rural municipality and low fuel consumption. The rural municipality stated that this step was taken to solve the problem of patients in remote areas being deprived of treatment and emergency services being affected when Sundays are a holiday.
The rural municipality has stated that it has decided to operate the service on Sundays as well with the aim of providing quick and effective services to the citizens. Now, according to the new arrangement, offices will operate from 10 am to 5 pm, schools from 10 am to 4 pm, and on Fridays from 10 am to 3 pm. The rural municipality has also requested all employees, teachers, students, and parents to cooperate in the full implementation of the decision.
