The Galchhi-Rasuwagadhi Road Planning Office has started removing encroached structures within the access road of the road being expanded.

According to Krishnaraj Ojha, the head of the ‘Galchhi Trishuli Mailung Syafrubesi Rasuwagadhi Road Planning Office’, despite the agreement to remove structures within the road access with compensation as per the rules, the structures of those who do not comply have started being demolished. These structures include 86 individual houses and structures of a dozen government offices and organizations.
The demolition of encroached structures of stone, brick and stone in the main market area of the district has started from Saturday with the help of the Bidur Municipality, said the office head Ojha. He informed that the target is to demolish the structures within the district within three days.
Office Chief Ojha said, 'The road being expanded as an international highway has been stopped due to the lack of vacant structures in the road access area. We will clear the site within a few days and instruct the construction entrepreneurs to start work.'
This road, which runs from Galchhi in Dhading to Bidur in Nuwakot and reaches the Rasuwagadhi border crossing with China, has been expanded as a national priority pride project. Due to the delay in removing the encroached structures in the market area of Nuwakot, the project has remained incomplete for 10 years.
In 2072 BS, the Nepal Government Council of Ministers had decided to proceed with the work as a tri-country highway connecting China, Nepal and India. The government has a plan to build it as the shortest distance international highway.
