A photo exhibition has been organized with the aim of publicizing and promoting historical, religious and tourist sites in the district. On the occasion of National Photojournalist Day 2083, the Nepal National Photojournalist Group Ramechhap made public photos depicting various sites on Sunday.
The photo exhibition featured photos depicting the major historical and religious sites of the district, from Khandadevi Temple, Thanapati Mahadev Than, Chisapani Garhi, Tilkesthan Garhi, Bhotnagi Tea Garden to the Ghyapche landslide, which is considered the largest in Ramechhap. Similarly, the beauty of rivers and streams including Tamakoshi and Sunkoshi flowing through the district has also been presented through photos.
The photos displayed in the exhibition have been viewed by public representatives, civil society leaders and local residents. The observers responded that the exhibition was very effective and informative. They said that such programs will further strengthen the identity of the district. Some said that scenes of disasters like the Ghyapche landslide have raised awareness about the risks, while others expressed their belief that such photos will help promote tourism.
Manthali Municipality Mayor Lav Shrestha said that photojournalism has special importance as photos tell the truth and depict the reality of society. He mentioned that dedication, courage and creativity are reflected in photojournalists.
Nawaraj Pathik, central member of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists, Ramechhap, expressed the view that the role of photojournalists is important in capturing the stories of society on camera and revealing the truth. Milan BK, President of the Nepal National Photojournalist Group, Ramechhap, said that the photo exhibition was organized with the expectation of highlighting the hidden heritage of Ramechhap and helping in promoting tourism. Along with the photo exhibition, the group has also released the wall calendar for 2083 BS and held its first general meeting.
