A girl has drowned in a river in Bajravarahi, Thaha Municipality-6, Makawanpur. A 6-year-old girl, Yunisa Rai, has died after drowning in the Barahi River in Thaha Municipality-6.
Yunisa, who hails from Taplejung and lives with her father, Bikash Rai, who works in lifting irrigation, and mother, Balkumari, in Bajravarahi, drowned in the Barahi River while playing. Mother, Balkumari, immediately rescued her daughter from the river and took her to the Primary Health Center in Palung.
Police Inspector Ruksha Bajracharya of the Palung Police Office said that Yunisa died on Sunday night during treatment.
The incident site is 13 kilometers northeast of Palung, IPR. The body of the deceased girl has been taken to Kathmandu for a postmortem. Since the Palung Primary Health Center in Thaha Municipality does not have a postmortem, she was taken to Kathmandu.
